UNTAPPED

Untapped is a new magazine and book imprint from Written World Communications aimed at the Christian teen and tween, ages 12 -19. Teenagers have some of the strongest faith I’ve ever seen but too often lack direction on what it means to live that faith in today’s world. This magazine seeks to give guidance in a fun and interesting way. We want to talk about what the kids are talking about, giving advice on everything from the Christian answer to dating and life at school to how to get out there and be ACTIVE in faith with true-life stories of mission projects, service ideas, and all the other exciting ways kids are getting out there and sharing their love for God.

We are looking for fiction, anecdotes, photos, interviews, and non-fiction articles that are edgy and exciting. Show us how you live your faith, give us a story with a Christian worldview that speaks to today’s teens. Make us laugh, make us think. There is nothing we won’t talk about.

We are currently accepting original, unpublished work by freelance writers, artists, and photographers. Each submission should be typed, double spaced, and contain:

• Your name as you would like it to appear in print and your contact information.
• Your story or article up to 2,500 words.
• Your poetry formatted in the way you would wish for it to appear on the page.
• Your art work or photo(s) sent in jpeg format.

We are also looking for column ideas. If you have something you think fits the format of Untapped, send us an email explaining your idea as completely as possible.

We’re also looking for edgy and interesting manuscripts between 45,000 – 80,000 words in length. While we’re primarily interested in fiction, if you have something non-fiction that you feel meets our needs, we encourage you to send us a query.

For the magazine, payment ranges between $10 – $25 per piece depending on length and type of submission. Books will be offered a very nominal advance, as we’re very new and small at this point. Please keep this in mind as you submit your work. If passion for youth and the opportunity to break into print overrides monetary compensation, then we might be the publisher for you.

We retain the right to edit written submissions for grammar, brevity, and clarity of language. We would send you the suggested changes prior to publication. Please allow between 6-8 weeks for notification. All submissions accepted by email.
