Once upon a time there was a quest, a stone, a vampire, and a Writer. It looked like any other fantasy story until the quest fractured, the stone was absorbed into the body of one of the questors, the vampire started to take over the story, and the Writer fell through the computer screen into the world she was writing about.

And that was just what happened in the first book.

Enter a second set of characters, a new quest, injuries all around, and yes a vampire that is insisting that he be one of the MAIN characters this time around.

Why is it that second books of trilogies are always so rough on the good guys?

"And don't you be so quick to judge me. I realized what this place was days ago. Heck, I probably recognized it back before I even came here. I don't understand myself why I didn't stop then, forgotten about the whole thing. I probably would have, if it hadn't been November. But there's strong magic in NaNoWriMo. And I can't stop, even now when I want to more than anything else. But that's not going to keep me from trying to go home. And don't you forget that."
