The Realm of Shadow - a world brimming with skel, the element of magic. Everyone is a mage here and every slightest wish is easily fulfilled. For centuries the Shadowkind have stolen children away from Vale to be their servants, their slaves. They made sport with the women of Vale and ventured into that other Realm to play tricks on the foolish mortals for their own amusement.

But all is not well in Shadow. A blight has fallen on the land, and the animals are growing sickly. Beneath their illusions of splendour and perfection, the people too are failing, and fewer children are born every year. No one knows the cause, nor can fathom the cure.

Yet some among the Shadowkind have hatched a bold plan to save their dying race. After many long years of plotting and positioning their players in a great game for dominance of Vale, they are ready to make their final move.
